Baron K. Roolenstein is one of the many aliases of King K. Rool. He appears in Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble! and Donkey Kong Land III as the main antagonist.

Donkey Kong Country 3

The Baron reveals himself.

In Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!, Baron K. Roolenstein captured Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong while they were on vacation in Northern Kremisphere. Soon, Dixie Kong and Kiddy Kong were looking for them, but they did not find them. Dixie Kong and Kiddy Kong were venturing and they reached Kastle KAOS. When they entered, they encountered and fought KAOS. After their battle against the robot, they soon discovered that KAOS was nothing but a puppet leader controlled by Baron K. Roolenstein. They fought him and defeated him. Later, Baron K. Roolenstein returns and is fought again in a submarine, the Knautilus. In this battle, Baron K. Roolenstein attacks by shooting bombs at the Kongs and using electrical beams. The Kongs must throw Barrels at him multiple times to defeat him. After they defeat Baron K. Roolenstein, KAOS falls down and crashes on the ground, releasing Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong. After Dixie Kong and Kiddy Kong rescue all the Banana Birds and go see the Banana Bird Queen, Baron K. Roolenstein will ride away from Northern Kremisphere in a hovercraft. As he drives away, the Banana Bird Queen lays an egg and it drops on him, trapping Baron K. Roolenstein inside it.

Donkey Kong Land III

In Donkey Kong Land III, Baron K. Roolenstein and the Kremling Krew, as well as a rebuilt KAOS, appear as the main antagonists of the game. Like in Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!, Baron K. Roolenstein is fought by Dixie and Kiddy Kong in Kastle KAOS after KAOS is destroyed. In battle, Baron K. Roolenstein attacks by electrocuting the Kongs with electrical beams, and by trying to fly into them using his helicopter pack. In order to harm Baron K. Roolenstein, Dixie and Kiddy must throw barrels at his back multiple times.

Baron K. Roolenstein could later be fought in the Lost World. If Dixie and Kiddy have not collected all of the DK Coins and Stopwatches, he will insist on them collecting the coins and stopwatches. After all have been collected, Baron K. Roolenstein will fight the heroes. He would attack by using electrical beams and firing bombs at Dixie and Kiddy Kong. The bombs thrown are akin to the bombs Kuchuka throws. Baron K. Roolenstein must be hit with barrels on his back by the Kongs multiple times in order to be defeated. Afterward, Dixie and Kiddy are announced as winner of the contest to find the Lost World. The Baron will say that he is impressed, and allow the Kongs to attempt the Time Attack game mode.

  • For some reason, Baron K. Roolenstein has an eye infection on his right eye rather than on his left eye, unlike his real persona.
    • Similarly, one of the artworks of King K. Rool for Donkey Kong Country depicts also him with an eye infection on his right eye.
