Army is an armadillo enemy who first appears in Donkey Kong Country.

Game appearances

Donkey Kong Country

Army's primary attack is to curl itself into a ball and roll forward. If Diddy jumps on it while it is curled up, he bounces off of it. The Army comes out of its shell. However, Donkey Kong defeats Army if he pounces onto it. Army is the fifth and final enemy spawned out of Dumb Drum when it is battled.

In the Game Boy Advance version, Diddy must bounce on Army twice while airborne to defeat it.

Donkey Kong Land

Armies return in Donkey Kong Land, unchanged from in Donkey Kong Country. It appears in slightly more levels, however.

Donkey Kong 64

Army does not appear in Donkey Kong 64, but a boss related to it appears in-game: Army Dillo.

Donkey Kong Racing (cancelled)

Armies briefly appear at the end of Donkey Kong Racing's E3 2001 trailer.

Other appearances

Donkey Kong Country comic

In the Donkey Kong Country comic

A lone, purple Army briefly appears in the second part of the short Club Nintendo comic adaptation of Donkey Kong Country. During the comic's events, it sneaks behind DK and Diddy as they head off to retrieve their bananas. However, Diddy notices and defeats it by jumping onto it, contrary to what happens in the game Donkey Kong Country.
