Dixie Kong is a Kong character form the Donkey Kong series. Dixie was introduced as a sidekick in Donkey Kong Country 2, and was the first playable female in the series. Since then she has made various reappearances in later Donkey Kong games and spinoffs, having made an appearance in nearly every game mainly involving the Kong cast.

Dixie Kong is Diddy Kong's girlfriend, Tiny Kong's older sister, and Kiddy and Chunky Kong's cousin.

Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest and Donkey Kong Land 2

Note: DKC2 and DKL2 share the same story; below assumes DKC2's.
Dixie with Diddy.

Dixie Kong made her debut appearance in Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest. In said game, she assists her boyfriend, Diddy Kong, to rescue Donkey Kong, who was captured by Kaptain K. Rool. She traveled with Diddy and the other Kongs to nearby Crocodile Isle to get D.K. back. Her abilities include her ability to use her ponytails like helicopter blades, Helicopter Twirl, a basic hair-whipping attack, and usage of the Team Up ability. It is also revealed in this game that she can play electric guitar.

Dixie and Diddy were on a very difficult quest, going deep into enemy territory and battling the large Kremling Krew and bosses, in this pirate-themed adventure. During the events of DKC2 she also participated in Funky Kong's air services, Swanky Kong's Banana Bonanza bonus games, and assisted Wrinkly Kong make a scrapbook. Eventually, the duo manage to reach The Flying Krock, save Donkey Kong, and return home. Dixie and Diddy later destroyed Crocodile Isle itself by defeating the Kaptain yet again in Krocodile Kore.

In the Game Boy Advance port of Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest, Dixie also helped save her sister Tiny Kong in the flying mini-games run by Funky Kong.

Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!

Dixie with Kiddy Kong exploring Kremwood Forest.

Dixie Kong returns to action in Donkey Kong Country 2's sequel, Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!, this time as the main character. She plays the lead role, with her sidekick being her younger cousin Kiddy Kong. Dixie needs to save not only Donkey Kong again, but also Diddy Kong from the hands of the mysterious KAOS in the newly revealed area Northern Kremisphere. Dixie sets out to save the two after realizing they were not going to return from one of their "adventures", meeting many new allies such as the Brothers Bear group.

Dixie and Kiddy successfully explore the Northern Kremisphere, defeating a new variety of enemies and bosses and even assembling a Photo Album for the occasion. As it turns out, Baron K. Roolenstein was behind the whole thing. After rescuing Donkey and Diddy Kong, Dixie stayed to clear out the Kremling Krew for good, free the Banana Bird Queen, and even exploring the Lost World of the Northern Kremisphere.

Donkey Kong Land III

Donkey Kong Land III marked her third appearance in the series, again teaming up with Kiddy Kong to search for the Lost World. In this game, the Kongs are informed of a contest to find the Lost World in the Northern Kremisphere. Donkey and Diddy Kong, anxious for adventure, enter by themselves. Dixie, not wanting to be upstaged, set out to find it too with Kiddy. However, this time around Wrinkly Kong and Bear help them.

As it turns out, Baron K. Rool has also returned and is interesting in finding the Lost World himself. Baron himself, angry with his previous loss, also set out his entire Kremling Krew to take control of the land. In the end, Dixie and Kiddy discover the Lost World and defeat K. Rool all over again.

Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze

After an absence from Donkey Kong Country Returns, Dixie makes her much praised return in Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, where she along with Donkey, Cranky, and her boyfriend are sent to an island faraway from their homeland. Teaming up with her family, she traverses five different islands and recovers the Banana Hoard and their home. Dixie controls similarly to her last appearances in the DKC series, though this time she gains more altitude when spinning her ponytail. According to the game's recent trailer, Dixie now has a new weapon called the Gumball Popgun and can pull off her own version of the ground pound by whacking her hair onto the ground. Additionally, she can spin her hair around on the ground while moving forward by using the control scheme used for Donkey Kong's Barrel Roll, or Diddy Kong's Cartwheel Attack. When the Kong Pow move is utilized with her, all enemies turn into Golden Hearts.

DK: King of Swing

Dixie Kong, as she appears in DK: King of Swing.

Dixie returns in the game DK: King of Swing, after a period of absence from Donkey Kong's Nintendo 64 games. She makes a small appearance in the main story, but is fully playable in the Jungle Jam. In the Jungle Jam, she possesses the greatest amount of jumping ability, however her attack is very poor.

DK: Jungle Climber

During DK: Jungle Climber, Dixie is seen, with the other members of the Kong Family, taking a vacation on Sun Sun Island. She appears in the game's intro, 100% complete cutscene, hosting secret stages, and is playable via the game's multiplayer function as the third player's character.

Donkey Konga series

Dixie, after another period of absence, made a playable appearance in Donkey Konga 2. Here she is one of the three main characters who can play the bongo instruments and win money to get bananas. She is also playable in some mini-games. Dixie also reappeared in the game's sequel, Donkey Konga 3, being again playable. The major difference aside form being able to play more songs and mini-games is that Dixie will play her electric guitar when she finishes a song.

Diddy Kong Racing DS

Dixie Kong's appearance in Diddy Kong Racing DS.

Although absent from the original Diddy Kong Racing, Dixie made an appearance in the game's Nintendo DS remake, Diddy Kong Racing DS. Dixie acts as a replacement for Conker, who had to be removed for legal reasons. This game marks her first racing appearance and first game in which she appeared with her sister. Dixie has well-rounded stats, being decent in every category.

In the game plot, Diddy calls for her after explaining he needed help to defeat Wizpig, save Timber's Island, and help return Drumstick to normal. Dixie traveled to the many areas of Timber's Island to help Diddy save the island, driving though the Dino Domain, Snowflake Mountain, Sherbet Island, Dragon Forest, and Future Fun Land. She ultimately helped defeat Wizpig and return everything to normal.

Donkey Kong Barrel Blast

Dixie Kong makes her second racing appearance in the spinoff game Donkey Kong Barrel Blast. Her stats seem to be based off Diddy's, but has slightly better boost, agility and lower speed. Her rival in-game is Kass. Her drums are pink and have attached what seems to be sky blue upside down flowers. Dixie is also seen in the Single Racing, Candy Challenges, and Options cutscenes.

In Spinoffs

Mario Superstar Baseball marks Dixie's first Mario-series appearance, and is voiced by Kaoru Sasashima. Here, she is classified as a "technique" character and has good chemistry with Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong. Her "sweetspot" is the middle of her bat. Her ability is to Clamber, or climb on walls, which can be used to catch balls. Stat-wise, she is bad at batting, and medium in running, fielding and pitching. Her team captain is D.K.

She returns in the game's sequel, Mario Super Sluggers. She appears as a sub-character. In Challenge Mode she can be found in the DK Jungle stadium. Dark Bones has captured her, and after being saved she asks Mario and co. to find the stone tablet.

She has good chemistry with Tiny, Diddy, Donkey, Baby Donkey Kong, and Funky; she has bad chemistry with King K. Rool and Kritter. In stats, she is bad at pitching and batting, but she is very good at fielding and running. She uses again a stick as a bat. Her bat entrance includes her jumping and flipping and then prepares to bat. In this game she is the fastest Kong, but is the worst Kong at batting.

Info in Mario Super Sluggers:

Her second appearance in the Mario series was Mario Hoops 3-on-3, her first appearance on the Nintendo DS. Dixie is unlockable and is a "Speedy" character type, like Diddy. Her special ability is to use to "Cannon Shot", where she a Barrel Cannon falls from the sky and launches the ball into the hoop, followed by a red explosion and confetti.

Her special shoot is the Cannon Shot, in which she starts spinning and suddenly a barrel cannon falls from the sky and catches the ball, then Dixie backflips onto the cannon and shoots the ball into the hoop, followed by a red explosion and multicolored confetti. Her letter to tap is " ▼ ".

Dixie Kong as she appeared in the Donkey Kong Country TV series.

Her personality is also different, and she was more trusting than the other Kongs, befriending a recently fired General Klump when no one else would. Dixie was voiced by Louise Vallance.

She made her first appearance in episode seven, Kong for a Day. In this episode, she cheers up Donkey after Funky got mad with him and she also went with him when he had to leave the island. They went in the jungle, and there, they sat down and talked. Krusha goes and hides behind a tree and imitates Donkey's voice to trick Dixie, making her believe that Donkey was saying bad things about her and Diddy. She then got mad at Donkey Kong and left.

In the episode From Zero to Hero, she is one of the characters reunited to see Cranky's new experiment, the x-ray machine. Bluster enters and says he has more rights than Dixie and the others just because he is rich. She gets mad and calls him inconsiderable. As Candy had to go to work, Dixie was the next character to enter and have x-rays. Later, she informs Cranky that King K. Rool has the Crystal Coconut.

In the episode Buried Treasure, she convinces Candy of going with Bluster on a treasure hunt to Mountain Mines. After the treasure is found, Dixie, along with the other Kongs and King K. Rool start fighting for it. At the end, the treasure turns out to be rotten bananas.

Bumm-Badabumm Im Urwald

Dixie was also one of the main characters in the Donkey Kong comic, "Bumm-Badabumm Im Urwald". Here she aided both Diddy and Donkey Kong in tracking down their stolen bananas and defeating Kaptain K. Rool and the Kremling Krew. She went to Donkey Kong's house, because she heard noises, there Donkey informs her and Diddy that all the bananas are gone. After, they go and check if their banana depot is also without bananas, and they realized that it’s empty as well, Dixie finds a hole from were the thieves entered. Diddy enters the hole and finds a Kremkoin, then they realize that the Kremlings are behind the disappearance of the bananas and decide to give the Kremlings a lesson.

The three of them enter the hole that leads to the jungle. Then Dixie notice a wasp, and quickly Donkey throws it a barrel. Dixie looks at the stings and says that a sting would have hurt. In the way they find Rambi and the three of them ride him, afterwards they find themselves having around many Kremlings. Rambi takes out all the Kremlings, and they continue their way to King K. Rool. After they reach the mountains Rambi leaves them. They start climbing the mountain, until they arrive to a place where a rope should be, the Kremlings pulled the rope up, Donkey throws Dixie upwards so she can let the rope down. After they reach the top, a Necky starts attacking them, but Donkey took him out quickly. Afterwards they reach the portal, but its locked, they successfully opened with the Kremkoin. Inside the portal they are attacked by Kremlings. After beating the Kremlings a giant Kremling appears, the Kongs escape from him through a narrow tunnel.

In the tunnel they find a mine cart. The start racing against the Kremlings, but as the distance between them increased, the mine cart turned less safety. Then the rails ended, and the Kongs landed on a swamp. Diddy then realizes they are not the only ones swimming in the swamp, Krochead are all around them. They all quickly go up to a crashed boat, and while thinking Donkey remembered something, he started to jump on flies until he reached land, Diddy and Dixie did the same. Dixie realized they were in the Lost World. Dixie climbs a wall and sees King K. Rool in the other side with all the bananas. Suddenly Dixie falls and the Kremlings see her, Donkey and Diddy quickly jump and help her. A fight against the Kremlings starts. King K. Rool start shooting pineapples but Donkey evades them all, he then finds an explosive barrel and throws it to him, which defeats him. The Kongs finally recover the bananas.

At the space shuttle Dixie, Diddy and Donkey, quickly notice the aliens look like them but bigger and green and blue. The Kongs learn that the aliens don’t want to dominate Earth, and what really happened is that the aliens thought Earth was a giant Coconut. After giving bananas to the aliens in exchange of them returning Earth to its original temperature, the Kongs head back to Earth were they are hailed by the people for saving them. • In a Nintendo Power issue, Dixie was incorrectly called Daisy Kong.
  • In Diddy Kong Racing DS, when Dixie's animation square shows up when being used by the AI after she attacks the player with a weapon, is overtaken by the player, or is attacked by the player's weapon, the Rare logo can be seen on her beret (although it is silver instead of gold), despite the fact that Microsoft Game Studios purchased Rare in late 2002.
  • In Super Mario Odyssey, references to Dixie are made, as there is a street sign in New Donk City named "Dixie Street" and there's a sign by the Crazy Cap shop reading "Dixie Theater."
