Donkey Kong 64
In one of the game's cutscenes, a Kasplat tried to escape Crocodile Rock, not wanting K. Rool to discover that the Kongs were recovering most of the blueprints. K. Rool heard Kasplat on a surveillance camera and sent a giant, red Klap Trap to eat it.
Kasplats are very similar to Krushas, and the two are often confused for one other (the Prima Donkey Kong 64 strategy guide even mislabels a Kasplat in the "Enemies" section as "Krusha").
Kasplat slams on the ground to attack, unleashing a colored shockwave. It also punches if the active Kong approaches it. Its hair color corresponds to the blueprint and shockwave color it gives out. Kasplat is either defeated if hit multiple times, by throwing Oranges at it five times, or by playing a musical instrument. After its defeat, it releases a colored blueprint, only collectible by a specific Kong. Once its blueprint is collected by the appropriate Kong, its hair turns white when re-encountered, but its shockwaves remain the same color. Five Kasplats, each one guarding a different colored blueprint for a Kong to collect, appear in every level of the game, except for Hideout Helm.
Kasplats also appear as an enemy in Multiplayer mode. In this mode, their attack can occasionally be used by the players if they collect an Orange or a question mark.
- If Chunky Kong flattens a Kasplat that is carrying a blueprint while under the effects of Hunky Chunky, the Kasplat will not release its blueprint.
- In Fungi Forest, the Kasplat that carries Tiny Kong's blueprint is much larger than the other Kasplats, being as large, if not larger, than a Klump. Despite its size, it can be defeated just as easily as any other Kasplat.
