Kackles are ghostly Kremlings from Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest that chase after Diddy Kong and Dixie Kong in the level "Haunted Hall", where they start chasing the Kongs as soon as they enter into its territory.
[edit] Summary
Kackles appear as skeletal Kremlings wearing colorful bandannas, a patch on an eye and holding scimitars in a belt. Once the player pass the first gate of "Haunted Hall" level, a Kackle will be found already waiting for the Kongs; a timer appears above of the screen, which the Kongs must pass the zone before the time limit. In case that the Kongs have not left the zone yet and time runs out, the Kackle will appear and attacks either Diddy or Dixie Kong. Getting Plus and Minus Barrels will alter for how long Kackles keep intangible.
There are a total of four areas in the level where Kackles appear, two before the checkpoint and two after the checkpoint.

[edit] Trivia
- In the Game Boy Advance remake of Donkey Kong Country 2, all Kackles in the game wear the same bandanna color, blue. In the Super Nintendo version of the game the Kackles wear either a blue, green, yellow or red bandanna.
- In Donkey Kong 64 a skeletal Kremling, conjecturally named Resident Demon appears. The Resident Demon is somewhat similar in appearance to a Kackle.
- Although Kackles may carry large swords on their belts, these are never used as weapons in the game
