Not to be confused with Steerable Barrel.

A Rotatable Barrel[1] (also called a Rotater Barrel in an issue of Nintendo Power[2]) is a type of Barrel that appears in the game Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest for the SNES and Game Boy Advance, as well as in Donkey Kong Land for the original Game Boy. This kind of Barrel first appears in the level Barrel Bayou. Rotatable Barrels also appear in the sequel to Donkey Kong Land 2, Donkey Kong Land III.

Rotatable Barrels are similar to the Auto-Fire Barrel, although this type of Barrel can actually be rotated and fired in any direction. However, some of them have a time limit (indicated by a number that appears on the Barrel) to how long the Kongs can stay in the Barrel. After this limit, the Kongs will be launched automatically. In Donkey Kong Land 2 and Donkey Kong Land III, these barrels have no time limit.

Similar barrels called Spinner Barrels make an appearance in DK: Jungle Climber. These barrels also have no time limit.
