“Sharp-toothed snapper who goes for players' heels.”
Donkey Kong Country 3 manual, page 18

Krimps are the Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble! equivalent of Donkey Kong Country's Klaptraps and Donkey Kong Country 2's Klampons. They are fully vulnerable on the back side (unlike the Klampon and Klaptrap) and on the top, but if hit from the front, they will reconcile with a swift bite. They get faster as the game progresses, which makes them harder to avoid or defeat. Even though Kobbles are the basic soldier of the Kremlings in Donkey Kong Country 3, Krimps outnumber them greatly. According to the game's credits, Krimps belong to the "Kremling Kreeps" enemy class. Krimps also make an appearance in Donkey Kong Land III with no changes. Krimps wear a spiked collar around their neck.

Trivia

  • When defeated in cascade levels, the sound they make is a lower-pitched version of Re-Koil's cry, compared to the normal cry that originally belonged to Krusha. Their cry also echoes when defeated in those levels.
  • When the "Color" cheat is activated, a blue Krimp can be seen on the "Bash the baddies!" bonus screen, but no Krimps in the game appear in that color.
  • The artwork for the Kongs in Demolition Drain-Pipe shows them being chased by a Krimp, but no Krimps appear in that level.
