*Through hacking, it is revealed that Kopters were initially programmed with a standing sprite and a defeated sprite in ''Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!''. The defeated sprite, however, was seen in ''Donkey Kong Land III''. The standing sprite also bears resemblance to that of [[Kutlass]] from [[Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest|the previous game]].

History[edit]

Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble![edit]

A Kopter in the Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong’s Double Trouble! level, Buzzer Barrage

In Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!, Kopters appear only in three levels of Razor Ridge: Buzzer Barrage, Kong-Fused Cliffs, and Pot Hole Panic. With their helicopter blades, Kopters propel themselves into the air. Kopters fly in various directions, usually up and down in a vertical path or circling around a platform, or even back and forth diagonally in a later part of Kong-Fused Cliffs. If a Kong is hit by Kopter's blades, they take damage, but Dixie Kong and Kiddy Kong can harmlessly bounce on a Kopter's helmet for a boost in height. In Dixie Kong's Photo Album, a Kopter is categorized as part of the Kremling Kreeps.

Kopters were initially programmed to have a standing sprite, vaguely reminiscent of Kutlasses from Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest, and a defeated sprite.

Donkey Kong Land III[edit]

In Donkey Kong Land III, Kopters appear in six levels: Footloose Falls, Rockface Chase, Clifftop Critters, Rickety Rapids, Stalagmite Frights, and Ghoulish Grotto. Unlike before, a Kopters can now be defeated from being jumped on; however, Kopters can defeat themselves by landing on the ground, though they respawn when the Kongs are not on the same screen as them.

Donkey Kong Barrel Blast[edit]

In Donkey Kong Barrel Blast, Kopter is an unlockable playable character and the rival of Wrinkly Kong. The player can unlock him by completing the Topaz Cup as a Kremling. Kopter has an average boost and speed rating and a high agility rating.
