In ''Donkey Kong Country 3'', Bounty Basses are similar to the airborne enemy, [[Booty Bird]]s, in that they usually carry an item within them. Like many other underwater enemies, [[Enguarde the Swordfish|Enguarde]] can defeat a Bounty Bass by stabbing it, causing it to release its item. A Bounty Bass usually contains a [[banana]] or a [[Bear Coin]], although it can sometimes [[K-O-N-G Letters]]. They only appear in a few underwater levels such as [[Bazza's Blockade]] or [[Floodlit Fish]]. Most Bounty Basses remain in one position, but some swim around back and forth. In the level [[Pot Hole Panic (Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!)|Pot Hole Panic]], some of the Bounty Basses' occupy the tight spaces underwater from their body mass.

Bounty Basses' behavior in ''[[Donkey Kong Land III]]'' is slightly different. In that game, they are often found in river stages, and they tend to be more active; they swim back and forth in the underwater passages. Despite their names, Bounty Bass in that game do not hold items; they instead serve as a larger, and more difficult to avoid, version of [[Koco]]. They can still be defeated by Enguarde, however.

Bounty Basses are plump, red fish enemies that in both Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble! They have a yellow variant named Gleamin' Bream.

Description

In Donkey Kong Country 3, Bounty Basses are similar to the airborne enemy, Booty Birds, in that they usually carry an item within them.
