Template:Species-infobox Snapses[1], also called Snippys[2][page number needed], are enemies appearing in Donkey Kong Country Returns and Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D. They are basic orange crabs that can be defeated using any attack method.

History

Donkey Kong Country Returns

Snapses first appear in the Beach area, the third level of the Ruins area, Mast Blast, and later in the Cliff level, Tippy Shippy. Snapses move from side to side and can only hurt Donkey Kong or Diddy Kong if they come in contact with them. They also have the tendency to chase the Kongs, meaning that they will change direction the instant the Kongs jump over one. Snapses can be defeated with a jump, a roll attack or by throwing a barrel at them. Pinchlys are stronger variants of Snapses.

Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze

A Snaps makes a minor appearance on the title screen of Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, where it wanders on the beach. A Snaps-looking crab with large claws is seen mounted on a weapn-like stick carried by an enemy called "Krob, the Konqueror" in a piece of concept artwork found in the game.
