Squiddicus is a giant cephalopod with an unknown number of spiked tentacles which it uses to crush numerous ships and foes with ease. Its skin is a light shade of orange and some of its nerves are visible on the surface of its skin. Its underside and suction cups are also purple in color.
Donkey Kong Country Returns
DK and Diddy encounter it at the start of Stormy Shore, crushing the Scurvy Crew's ship. It then pursues them for the rest of the level, running his tentacles through the openings in the rock formations and destroying platforms before surfacing directly under the goal barrel at the end of the level and swiping at the kongs.
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze
Squiddicus returns in Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, in the level Irate Eight. Here it once again uses its tentacles to hinder the Kongs, though now it is capable of destroying the scenery, (and sometimes it is required to wait until he destroys certain things in order to progress in the level). Another new feature is that Squiddicus now sports an ink attack, where it expels toxic ink as it chases the player though a vertical underwater shaft during the level's final section. DK must constantly swim upwards as the ink rises, or else he will suffer instant death. At the end of the level, Kongs have to use hanging land mines by launching into it to cause Squiddicus to take damage, defeating it in the process
- Despite its name, it actually appears to be an octopus rather than a squid.
- Near the end of the Boulder Roller level, a large fossil bearing a resemblance to Squiddicus appears. It is possible that Squiddicus' species may have been around since prehistoric times. However, it is unknown if anymore members of it's species aside from Squiddicus itself still exist in the present.
- Once the Kongs pass by the fossil it appears to stare at them with its right eye and the other eye falls out of the socket while attempting to look at them. Its possible that the fossil may be undead much like the rest of the creatures in the Cliff.
