Template:Species-infobox Snapses,[1] also called Snippys,[2][page number needed] are enemies appearing in Donkey Kong Country Returns and Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D. They are basic orange crabs. Snapses first appear in the Beach area, the third level of the Ruins area, Mast Blast, and later in the Cliff level, Tippy Shippy. Snapses move from side to side and can only hurt Donkey Kong or Diddy Kong if they come in contact with one. They also have the tendency to chase the Kongs, meaning that they'll change direction the instant the Kongs jump over one. Snapses can easily be defeated with a jump or by throwing a barrel at them. Pinchlys are stronger variants of Snapses.

A single Snaps makes a minor appearance on the title screen of Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, wandering around the place of the image. No other member from its species shows up later in the game. A Snaps-looking creature would have been used as a weapon by "Krob, the Konqueror", according to a piece of concept artwork found in the game.
