Klampons are blue-skinned, red-spotted, quadrupedal Kremlings who appear in Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest and Donkey Kong Land 2. They are the big brother of Klaptraps, a similar enemy from Donkey Kong Country, and have a big head, large jaws, and bulging eyes similar to theirs. Klampons do not appear in Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble! and Donkey Kong Land III, where they were replaced by Krimps.

Klampons are crocodilian-like enemies that first appear in Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest and later make a reappearance in Donkey Kong Land 2 and Donkey Konga 2. According to the game's credits, Klampons belong to the "Kremling Kuthroats" enemy class.
Klampons act very similarly to Klaptraps, but are notably bigger and move slower. Klampons attack by repeatedly chomping their jaws while moving back and forth. Diddy and Dixie cannot roll into a Klampon from the front because this injures them. They can defeat a Klampon by rolling into it from behind, jumping on it, or by throwing a barrel or crate at it.

Appearance
Klampons sometimes appear alongside their functional opposite, Spinies, who are immune to jump attacks but are vulnerable to frontal attacks. An example of both enemies grouped together is in Castle Crush, where defeating either enemy may accidentally lead the Kongs to injury from the other enemy.
Klampons appear as blue and red-spotted crocodiles with small bodies, big heads and jaws, and bulging eyes. According to the Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy Kong's Quest instruction manual, they are the bigger brothers of Klaptraps from Donkey Kong Country, explaining their resemblance and size. Klampons also share the same way of attack, and are invulnerable to a frontal attack as well as an attack from behind. However, just like their smaller counterpart, a stomp will take care of them. Klampons are also vulnerable from a cartwheel or spin attack from above, unlike Klaptrap. Sometimes Klampons appear with their functional opposites (weak to frontal attacks but immune to jump attacks), the Spinies. This makes it harder to defeat the group of enemies (in Castle Crush, for example), as defeating one may accidentally lead to being hurt by the other.

According to the game's credits, Klampons belong to the "Kremling Kuthroats" enemy class.

“He's Klaptrap's bigger brother, and he has a monstrous appetite for monkeys.”
Donkey Kong Country 2 manual, page 29

Klampons are blue-skinned, red-spotted, quadrupedal Kremlings who appear in Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest and Donkey Kong Land 2. They are the big brother of Klaptraps, a similar enemy from Donkey Kong Country, and have a big head, large jaws, and bulging eyes similar to theirs. Klampons do not appear in Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble! and Donkey Kong Land III, where they were replaced by Krimps.

According to the game's credits, Klampons belong to the "Kremling Kuthroats" enemy class.
