Additionally, completing a boss level again will not cause a Kremkoin to appear.

In Donkey Kong Country 2, two to three Kremkoins are found in every level. In order to obtain a Kremkoin, Diddy Kong and Dixie Kong must find a Bonus Barrel and beat the challenge in the barrel. Once the challenge is beaten, a Kremkoin will be awarded to them; a Kremkoin can also be obtained by defeating a game boss. Kremkoins are needed to pay off the Kremling Klubba; once Klubba is paid fifteen Kremkoins, he will allow the Kongs entrance to a portion of the Lost World. In Donkey Kong Land 2, Kremkoins serve the same purpose as in Donkey Kong Country 2; they are needed to pay for access to the Lost World. In this game, there are only forty-seven Kremkoins, and they all have to be given to Klubba at once to enter the Lost World.
In Donkey Kong Land 2, there are only 47 Kremkoins to obtain, and rather than pay for each Lost World level, the Kongs pay every Kremkoin at once to unlock the Lost World entirely.

Kremkoin

A Kremkoin, also spelled Krem Coin,[1][2][3] is a large golden coin in Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest and Donkey Kong Land 2 that is rewarded for completing a Bonus Area. In both games, Diddy and Dixie Kong are required to collect every Kremkoin. Every level has usually two or three Kremkoins, depending on the number of Bonus Areas in that level, and a Kremkoin is also rewarded for defeating a world boss the first time. If Diddy and Dixie redo an already completed Bonus Area, the Kremkoin is shown with a check mark over it, and collecting it does not count toward the total. Additionally, completing a boss level again will not cause a Kremkoin to appear.

In Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest, there are 75 Kremkoins in total. The Kongs must pay 15 Kremkoins to Klubba at each of his kiosks to allow them to enter a specific Lost World level from that world. The Lost World levels, unlike regular levels, have only one Bonus Area, which reward a DK Coin instead of a Kremkoin. Likewise, the Kongs are rewarded a DK Coin for completing Krocodile Kore. There is a cheat in Pirate Panic that allows the Kongs to obtain all 75 Kremkoins at once.

In Donkey Kong Land 2, there are only 47 Kremkoins to obtain, and rather than pay for each Lost World level, the Kongs pay every Kremkoin at once to unlock the Lost World entirely.

Kremkoins were replaced with Bonus Coins in Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble! and Donkey Kong Land III.
