Template:Level Doorstop Dash is the second level in the Donkey Kong game, Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble. It is also the seconds area in Lake Orangatanga.

During this mill level, the Kongs will find several doorways blocking their path. In order to open these doorways, they must pull nearby levers to lift them. Unfortunately, the doors only stay open for a limited amount of time, so they have to run through the level's other obstacles to get through them quickly. All in all, though, it shouldn't be much trouble for them, as it is only the second level. The enemies here include Buzzes, who make their debut here. These foes, however, are only a only a minor annoyance. Many Sneeks also make their home here.

Level Layout

At the beginning of the level, the heroes have to grab onto a lever and pull open a nearby doorway. Once it's open, they should run through and pull another lever. This will open the next door, found after a group of restless Sneeks. Going through the door, they should climb up a ledge and pull the third lever. It will open a door on the above floor. Using a small, wooden platform, they have to jump to this floor and pass through the opening, finding the letter O. After grabbing the next lever, a door to the left of them will open. They should race under a group of Buzzes to reach it. On the other side of this door, they have to climb up a rope to enter the third floor. Walking through this floor, they can pull another lever, then run under more Buzzes to find the next door. On the other side of this door, they will find a lever next to the Star Barrel.

About halfway through the level, the apes need to use a moving platform to reach a recently opened door. Walking into it, they must jump in a barrel to blast to the next lever. Pulling the lever will open a nearby door. Jumping into this, they have to climb another rope and jump to the west at the top of it. Farther on, they must use a few bags of flour to reach another lever. It will open a door found on the next floor. Climbing up another rope, they will soon find this door, along with the letter N. Moving into more of the level, the heroes must shoot upwards in a set of two barrels to reach another lever. Jumping into the door it opens, they have to head up another rope after pulling the next lever. At the top of the rope, they must run over to the nearby door and crouch under it. Grabbing yet another lever, surrounded by a Buzz, the Kongs will open the next door, which they should run through to see a large abyss. Jumping into this abyss, they will fall a great distance, until they reach the ground, where they should find a flagpole. Pulling the end of this flagpole will end the level.

Secrets

Bonus Levels

  1. The first Bonus Barrel encountered in this building is to the left of the first rope in the level that is met a little before the Star Barrel. In order to get to it, the player must have Dixie throw Kiddy upwards so they can reach a lever above them. Here the player can simply just jump and spin to the area containing a Bonus Barrel and a red Life Balloon. The Bonus Level involves collecting sixty Stars in under thirty seconds. However, they have have to use levers to open a door and collect some of the stars. Once all the stars are collected, a Bonus Coin will appear to take.
  2. The second Bonus Barrel is to the right of the second rope encountered. The Kongs have to hang onto a Lever again to open another door, although they'll have to dodge a Buzz that is flying back and forth. In the Bonus Level, the Kongs will have to dodge two Buzzes flying around as the player hangs onto several levers. At the end of the stage, they will find another Bonus Coin.

DK Coin

  • Just before the flagpole, the Kongs have to jump off of a ledge and fall back to the bottom of the mill. As they fall, they should stay on the left side of the wall and eventually land in a hidden area. In this area, they will see a Koin, with the DK Coin, near a Steel Keg. They have to defeat the Koin to get the DK Coin, though his shield can protect him from most attacks. So, the monkeys have to pull the above lever to open a door above the Koin. When throwing the Steel Keg into the open door, the Kongs should stay in place and watch it bounce against a wall into the distracted Kremling. This will defeat the enemy, thus giving them a DK Coin.

Warp Barrel

  • Just after the first platform for the Kongs to jump on, Kiddy must throw Dixie north-east to find the Warp Barrel.
