They serve as projectiles shot out of Squid Shots, and have a relative species referred to as Electrasquids. They can be defeated by any of Donkey Kong or Diddy Kong's attacks and can mainly be defeated by being hit against a wall. They move in a straight line in the direction the Squid Shot is pointing at. One can see a Squidly's eyes peeking out of the Squid Shot just before it is fired. According to its concept artwork, a crab controls the Squid Shot, maybe either Snaps or Pinchly. They can be considered the Donkey Kong equivalent of Bullet Bills, because they are shot out of cannons in a straight direction.
