Precarious Plateau is the forty-second level in the Nintendo Wii game, Donkey Kong Country Returns, as well as the fifth area in the Cliff world.
With Rambi, Donkey and Diddy Kong must travel across many falling platforms and dodge swinging boulders. Additionally, the level includes wooden bridges, which fall with the weight of the heroes, and big stone platforms and walls. Many of these stone platforms are held by ropes and slowly swing over gaps. The Kongs can ride on the stones to progress of the many abysses in this level. Like other cliff-themed levels, the primates can find many dinosaur bones lying all over the stage in Precarious Plateau. Enemies in this level include Tiki Goons, Tiki Tanks, Tiki Torches

Secrets
K-O-N-G Letters
- K: In the platform with the first boulder. Behind the rope is the letter K.
- O: On the wooden bridge in the background, after Donkey Kong breaks the stone wall. The O must be collected by jumping.
- N: On the fourth grey stone platform after the wooden bridge in the background where the O letter is found.
- G: On the gray stone platform before the last button.
Puzzle Pieces
- At the start of the level, if Donkey Kong blows a blue plant, a Puzzle Piece comes out.
- Rambi should break a box after the first line of falling platforms. Donkey Kong need to colect all the bananas for a Puzzle Piece appear.
- Near the first button, DK should blow another plant.
- Using the last button will make a path that can be opened with Rambi appear, with a Puzzle Piece at the end.
- Collecting all of the bananas on the sixth wheel in the last background area will make this Puzzle Piece appear.
