==Name Controversy==
The name Flapper is derived from one of [[Swanky Kong]]'s Bonus Bonanza rounds in ''Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest''. When asked what their parrot buddy's name was, the player were given the choice between Squawks, Squeaks, and Flapper. The last two names became fan names created by the ''Donkey Kong'' fansite, [http://www.dkvine.com Donkey Kong Universe], for the blue and purple parrots, respectively, though the latter has now been officially named [[Quawks the Parrot]].

The title of this article is conjectural; an official name for the article's subject has not been found, so it has been given a fitting title by the editors. If an official name is found, then the article should be moved to its appropriate title.

Dixie Kong, being carried by Flapper the Parrot.

Flapper the Parrot is a blue parrot found in Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest and Donkey Kong Land 2.

Flapper only appears in one level in both games, called "Parrot Chute Panic". Here he aids Diddy Kong and Dixie Kong by grabbing onto them and slowly descending down a large Zinger hive. Though Flapper's assistance seems unnecessary, it is actually quite needed as without Flapper, the Kongs would descend the Zinger hive uncontrollably, and probably land on a Zinger. It is sometimes easier to use Dixie Kong to float down though.

Flapper has no way to defend himself, so it's important that the player doesn't collide with any enemies while descending. It should also be pointed out that Flapper will release the Kongs after getting past certain parts of a level. However, the player can release Flapper early if they wanted to.
