During the events of Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble! the Banana Bird Queen was sealed away by Baron K. Roolenstein early in his invasion of the Northern Kremisphere. After the queen's imprisonment, Roolenstein (through the use of KAOS) had the Kremling Krew capture and seal away a large number of Banana Birds, the only creatures who could free the queen. The Banana Birds that weren't captured scattered and took refuge with several members of the Brothers Bear family.

If Dixie and Kiddy Kong manage to free all the Banana Birds from their imprisonment in the Banana Bird Caves, and gain them from the Brothers Bear, the Kongs will be able to free the queen from the Evil Barrier that is imprisoning her. When all the Banana Birds have been collected, the Kongs must go to Wrinkly's Save Cave. The Banana Birds will then pick up the Kongs and take them to their mother.

When the Kongs bring the Banana Birds to the Banana Bird Queen, the birds will sing an enchanting song that will release their queen. As thanks for her release, the Banana Bird Queen will happily kick K. Roolenstein out of the Northern Kremisphere by chasing him down and dumping a giant egg on him.

In the Game Boy Advance remake of Donkey Kong Country 3, the task of releasing the Banana Bird queen is made more difficult, as at least five more Banana Birds have been added to the game.

Banana Queen, Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!

The Banana Queen, also known as the Queen Banana Bird[1] or Banana Bird Queen,[2] is a giant multi-colored Banana Bird and the mother of all Banana Birds. She only appears in Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble! Prior to the game's events, the Banana Queen was sealed behind an evil barrier from Baron K. Roolenstein, and the Banana Birds were scattered in various parts of the island. Dixie and Kiddy Kong have to rescue every Banana Bird and then visit Wrinkly's Save Cave (or Wrinkly's Retreat in the remake). From there, every Banana Bird returns to where the Banana Queen is, which is at the very top left corner of the Northern Kremisphere world map, only reachable using the Gyrocopter. In the original release, the Banana Queen is located behind some clouds, but the remake features her on top of a mountain to the right of the secret cave, K's Cache. When arriving to the Banana Queen, the Banana Birds all sing an enchanted song that destroys the barrier that she is trapped behind. The Banana Queen thanks the Kongs, and a brief chase scene is shown where the Banana Queen, with the Kongs on her back, chases Baron K. Roolenstein around the world map, eventually flying above K. Rool to drop a giant egg on him.
