Wrinkly's Save Cave is where Wrinkly resides at in Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!. As the name implies, Dixie and Kiddy can save their game here.

Summary[edit]

Wrinkly retired from teaching, because her Kollege, along with the rest of Crocodile Isle, sank underwater after the Lost World exploded at the end of Donkey Kong Country 2. In response she relocated to the Northern Kremisphere and resided in her own cavern. There is a Save Cave within each world, and it is revealed to a flashing white light when seen from the world map. Unlike Kong Kollege, Dixie and Kiddy can save their game whenever they desire. Wrinkly also houses the freed Banana Birds with her.

Wrinkly sometimes plays on a Nintendo 64 when the Kongs visit her. It is indicated by the "Inside the Castle Walls" theme from Super Mario 64, except remixed.

In Donkey Kong Land III, Wrinkly's Save Cave was renamed "Wrinkly Refuge". The Refuge serves an identical purpose, and Wrinkly does not provide care for the Banana Birds, who do not appear in the game themselves.

In the Game Boy Advance re-release of Donkey Kong Country 3, most of Wrinkly's Save Caves were replaced with Cranky's Dojos, except for the one on the Northern Kremisphere world map, where Wrinkly now operates Wrinkly's Retreat. The Retreat only houses Banana Birds, because the player can freely save his or her game progress on the world map.
