|Residence||Baffle's Code Room, |
|Games||Donkey Kong Country 3|
Baffle is a member of the Brothers Bear of Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!.
Baffle resides in his code room, located within KAOS Kore, west of the upper area of the waterfall. In the original Super Nintendo version of Donkey Kong Country 3, the code room resembled every other Brothers Bear log cabin; Aside from having a counter, he has a book shelf. In the Game Boy Advance remake of the game, the room's appearance, along with Baffle's appearance, was overhauled completely. Baffle now resembles a detective, and his code room is modeled after a detective's office. There is a lamp that shines on Dixie Kong and Kiddy Kong when they enter, and there is a chair to sit on. Additionally, behind Baffle there appears to be drawings of some sort depicting something spreading outward in some directions.
Baffle claims to be a code solver, and stumbles upon on a clue he cannot solve. He tells his problems to Dixie and Kiddy, when they visit his shop. In order for the Kongs to assist solving the code, they need Cranky Kong's mirror, which Bazaar sells for fifty Bear Coins. Alternatively, if they gave their mirror to Barter in exchange for Barter's No. 6 Wrench, they can re-purchase the mirror off Barter for ten Bear Coins. After giving Baffle the mirror, he can decipher the code, which was written backwards; it reads, "To open the gate, at the two stones make an eight." Beyond that, Baffle can't figure out what exactly that means, but is satisfied that he was able to crack the code.
The code is a riddle pertaining to unlocking a Banana Bird Cave in KAOS Kore; By swimming in a figure 8 in the lake, making sure to swim around the rocks, the cave will be opened. Every time Dixie/Kiddy show up at Baffle's after solving the code, his text will be reversed.
