This article is about a level in Donkey Kong Land 2. For a level in Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest of the same name, see Gusty Glade (Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest).

Template:Levelbox Gusty Glade is the twenty-fifth level of Donkey Kong Land 2. It is also the third area of the fifth world, Gloomy Gulch.

This level takes place in a forest and the main obstacle in this level is the strong wind (hence the name of the level) that pushes the Kongs in the direction it blows. With several pits and enemies, the level becomes quite hard to pass. Hooks and Barrel Cannons are present in this level, helping the monkeys get over the abysses. The wind can also help the apes jump from one hook/barrel to another, since there are long distances between them. However, the gust can blow in the opposite direction, and the Kongs can easily fall into a pit and lose a life. Rattly the Rattlesnake makes another appearance within this level. Click-Clacks, Klampons, Spinies, Neeks and, of course, Flitters are enemies that inhabit the area.

Level layout

Main article: Gusty Glade (Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest)#Level Layout

This is the only level in Donkey Kong Land 2 that is almost identical to Donkey Kong Country 2's version of the stage. Although some enemies or items may have been excluded or moved, the layout remains very similar. Even though the layout is alike in both games, however, some Bonus Levels and other secrets are still hidden in distinct places.

For more information about this level's layout, it is recommended to read this entry.

Secrets

K-O-N-G Letters

  • K: The letter K is located inside of a treasure chest found shortly after the first DK Barrel.
  • O: The letter O is placed on a thin platform found shortly after the second DK Barrel.
  • N: A treasure chest containing the letter N is located around a few Spinies found shortly after the Star Barrel.
  • G: The letter G hovers above the second-to-last pit in the level. An Auto Fire Barrel is below it to catch the primates when they drop to the letter.

Bonus Levels

Diddy Kong prepares to jump on a Kaboing in the second Bonus Level.
  • After passing the letter O in the area full of thin platforms, the Kongs have to cross a pit with the use of a hook. Instead of jumping to the ledge to the right, they should drop down and follow a banana trail to land in a hidden Bonus Barrel. It sends them to a Bonus Level, where they must collect 15 stars within the time limit of 20 seconds. Some raised pieces off land in this area must be used to reach several of the stars. Once all of the stars are collected within the time limit, a Kremkoin appears to claim before the remaining time runs out. If the heroes fail to collect the Kremkoin before time runs out, they are lead back to the main level.
  • After passing the letter N, the group can spy a kannonball lying nearby. They must pick it up and carry it along the path until they find a kannon. After loading the kannon with the kannonball, they must walk into the object to be shot to a Bonus Level. Here, they must defeat a collection of two Spinies, two Kaboings, and a Klampon. If all five of the enemies in this bonus are defeated within 20 seconds, a Kremkoin appears for them to claim. They must collect the coin before time runs out, otherwise, they will be sent back to the main level. This also happens if they are attacked by an enemy or fall into a pit.

DK Coin

  • The Kongs shoot across a pit with Barrel Cannons after they pass an area with a Kannon near the end of the level. They blast to the DK Coin on the way.
