Template:Species-infobox Klingers are climbing Kremlings that can scale ropes and chains. In Krem Quay levels, they can also scale swamp reeds.

History

Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest

Chain Link Chamber
Two Klingers surrounding Diddy and Dixie Kong.

Klingers first appear in Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest. When they slide down the ropes, they try to hit into the Kongs. If they are successful in doing so, the hero they hit is defeated. The defeated hero can be brought back with the help of a DK Barrel. However, if the Kongs throw an object at them, such as a barrel or a kannonball, the Klinger falls off the rope and is defeated. Klingers can also be defeated by being jumped on by one of the Kongs. They make major appearances in the level, Chain Link Chamber. In the Donkey Kong Country 2 Player's Guide, it is told that the Klingers are the only Kremlings that can climb, and they had to learn it first, as other Kremlings are not natural-born climbers.

Donkey Kong Land 2

Klingers reappear in the follow-up game of Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest, Donkey Kong Land 2. Their role in the game is exactly like their role in Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest, which is climbing ropes and trying to defeat the Kongs.

Donkey Konga 2

Klingers also make a cameo appearance in the GameCube game, Donkey Konga 2. In the game, they sometimes show up in the freestyle mode when the player hits the bongos.

Physical Appearance

Klingers are orange reptiles with a yellow stomach. They have a long, scaly tail. Klingers also wear a gree bandana with white spots on their head. They also wear a matching cloth around their body. Like most pirates, Klingers wear two hoop earrings. They have claws with sharp fingers and sharp toes.
