The Kongs fighting Kerozene
Kaptain K. Rool
Wields weakened Kleevers
|Games||Donkey Kong Country 2 (Game Boy Advance)|
Kerozene is the sixth boss exclusive to the Game Boy Advance re-release of Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest. It is battled in K. Rool's Keep's Stronghold Showdown; in the original version, the area does not feature a boss battle, but instead a cutscene where Diddy and Dixie find DK tied up carried aboard The Flying Krock by Kaptain K. Rool. Kerozene's name is a pun on a type of flammable gas: kerosene.
Kerozene first emerges from the tower and slams its fists on the ground. It then sends out two small Kleevers, who slice rapidly at Dixie and/or Dixie. A kannonball also falls down. The lead Kong must toss it at a small Kleever for another to appear, which they should also toss at the second Kleever.
After both are defeated, Kerozene's face glows white. Another kannonball collapses from the sky, and then Kerozene breathes fire in a set pattern. The lead Kong must pick up the kannonball and toss it at Kerozene's head. This process is repeated another time. Afterwards, Kerozene slams its hands, which temporarily stuns the Kongs if they are on the ground. Another kannonball falls from the air, in between its hand. Because its hands are on the ground, the Kongs have less space to pick up the kannonball and toss it at Kerozene's head. If they manage to do so, the process repeats another time.
After being hit, Kerozene slams down its fists again. A fifth kannonball falls from the air. The Kongs have to be on either fist to avoid a fireball it spits out, flaming the entire ground floor. After the flames douse, Diddy or Dixie must go on the ground, pick up the final kannonball, and throw it at Kerozene's face. It then exhales smoke and is defeated.
When first defeated, like with the other bosses, Diddy and Dixie are rewarded a Kremkoin. After getting it, they can access The Flying Krock.
