Flitters are somewhat common enemies in Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest, usually found in the swamps of Krem Quay. They are obviously modeled after real life dragonflies, though do not possess any kind of special attack besides flying.

Flitters usually just fly dormant where they are, sometimes flying back and forth. They do not seek out the Kongs or appear to even notice them. Because of this, flitters are considered one of the weakest enemies in the game, usually used for a platform for the Kongs to jump off of. They first appear in DKC2 and reappeared in Donkey Kong Land 2.

Flitters returned in DK: King of Swing. In this game, simply jumping doesn't defeat them, and a charge attack is required to defeat them. Flitters return in DK Jungle Climber as well.

  • Flitters were seen in a trailer for Donkey Kong Racing, suggesting that they might have been usable karts or enemies in the game.
