Appearances in video games[edit]

Donkey Kong Country 2[edit]

Kreepy Krow in Donkey Kong Country 2.

After Krow's death at Gangplank Galleon in Donkey Kong Country 2, its spirit flies off (only seen in the Game Boy Advance re-release). It is re-encountered at Gloomy Gulch, under the alias of "Kreepy Krow". Once Diddy and Dixie reach Kreepy Krow, it commands three undead Mini-Neckies and a live one to swoop at them. The lead Kong must jump on the living one to spawn a barrel, which should be tossed at Kreepy Krow. It then flies up the mast, and two hooks collapse from the sky. The Kongs must climb up the hooks and then on ropes, while evading collapsing eggs. To the left is a ledge with a hovering DK Barrel. The two monkeys can find a Barrel Cannon above the ropes to blast to the next level of the mast.

At the next level, Kreepy Krow repeats its attack pattern, but he summons five ghost Mini-Neckies to swoop at Diddy and Dixie, albeit more quickly. The lead Kong must trample on another live Mini-Necky to spawn a barrel. Diddy or Dixie must toss it at Kreepy Krow another time. It then flies upward, and hooks drop from the sky again. Unlike last time, Diddy and Dixie also cross horizontal ropes and climb short, vertical ropes. Eggs also fall in both aforementioned directions. Above a ledge on the right side is a hovering DK Barrel. The two monkeys must blast to the third level of the mast via another Barrel Cannon.

At the third level, seven undead Mini-Neckies now charge at the Kongs, more rapidly than the other two times. The lead Kong must jump on a live Mini-Necky a third time to spawn a barrel for tossing at Kreepy Krow. It is defeated upon a third hit. The Kongs receive a Kremkoin and access to K. Rool's Keep for defeating Kreepy Krow.

Kreepy Krow is excluded from the game's "Cast of Characters", but in the Game Boy Advance remake, it is included in the credits as a member of the "Barnacled Bosses" group.

Donkey Kong Land 2[edit]

Kreepy Krow reprises its role in Donkey Kong Land 2. Due to the Game Boy's limited color palette, Kreepy Krow looks identical to Krow. It is once again the boss of Gloomy Gulch.

Upon encounter, Kreepy Krow sends four Mini-Neckies to swoop at Diddy or Dixie. If the fourth one is defeated, an egg falls from the sky. The active Kong must toss the egg at Kreepy Krow. This has to be repeated once more. Afterward, Kreepy Krow flies upward and hooks fall from the sky. Diddy or Dixie must then climb up ropes while avoiding falling eggs and jump into a Barrel Cannon to blast to the second level of the nest.

At the second level, the active Kong must attack the fourth swooping Mini-Necky to spawn an egg to toss at Kreepy Krow a third time. This process has to be repeated again for Kreepy Krow to be defeated. Diddy and Dixie receive a Kremkoin when it is defeated.
