“He's Klaptrap's bigger brother, and he has a monstrous appetite for monkeys.”
Donkey Kong Country 2 manual, page 29

Klampons are blue-skinned, red-spotted, quadrupedal Kremlings who appear in Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest and Donkey Kong Land 2. They are the big brother of Klaptraps, a similar enemy from Donkey Kong Country, and have a big head, large jaws, and bulging eyes similar to theirs. Klampons do not appear in Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble! and Donkey Kong Land III, where they were replaced by Krimps.

Klampons act very similarly to Klaptraps, but are notably bigger and move slower. Klampons attack by repeatedly chomping their jaws while moving back and forth. Diddy and Dixie cannot roll into a Klampon from the front because this injures them. They can defeat a Klampon by rolling into it from behind, jumping on it, or by throwing a barrel or crate at it.

Klampons sometimes appear alongside their functional opposite, Spinies, who are immune to jump attacks but are vulnerable to frontal attacks. One such example is in Castle Crush, where defeating either enemy may accidentally lead the Kongs to injury from the other one.

According to the game's credits, Klampons belong to the "Kremling Kuthroats" enemy class.

In Donkey Konga 2, Klampons make a cameo in "Freestyle Zone", where their artwork pops on-screen in response to the player hitting the DK Bongos.
