After Diddy and his girlfriend Dixie Kong ventured through the rapidly decaying ship, Gangplank Galleon, they manage to reach the ship's Krow's Nest, where they encountered Krow. The giant vulture's most commonly used tactic is to pick up one of his eggs and hurl it at the Kongs, though he will also swoop down to attack his foes on occasion.

Krow reappears in Donkey Kong Land 2, reprising his role as the boss of Gangplank Galleon and being fought at Krow's Nest, as well as later being fought in Gloomy Gulch as Kreepy Krow, whose sprites are now shared with Krow's. Krow is fought very similarly as before and is attacked using the same method as before. Krow starts by taking a large egg from his nest, swooping to the other side, and throwing it down at the Kongs. After a second hit, Krow's attack changes to moving left and right below his nest and causing eggs to fall down the stage individually; the fifth egg lands directly on the ground without spinning. After a fourth hit, Krow is defeated. In the ending's Cast of Characters, Krow is classified under "The Baddies" along with other enemies and bosses.

Krow's careless use of his eggs as weapons will prove to be his undoing, as the Kongs can grab an egg once it stops bouncing and throw it at Krow, injuring him. After being hit multiple times, Krow will become disoriented and begin to bash into his nest, flinging eggs everywhere. Diddy and Dixie must avoid these falling eggs and grab the ones that stop bouncing and hurl them at Krow, who becomes even more eratic. After being hit by a few more eggs Krow will finally collapse, surrender the Kremkoin he was guarding, and die.

Unfortunately for Diddy and Dixie, this was not the end of Krow. After traveling through the phantom infested area, Gloomy Gulch, Diddy and Dixie came upon what appeared to be a dilapidated crow's nest. Venturing onto this structure, the Kongs encountered the ghost of Krow. This time, "Kreepy Krow" would send a barrage of ghostly Mini-Neckies against the Kongs, who must avoid these spectral birds and jump on the sole living Mini-Necky deployed by Krow. This will summon a barrel which the Kongs can hit Krow with, causing him to fly upward.

After this, a hook will drop nearby, and the Kongs must use this hook to reach some rigging. After climbing the rigging and dodging eggs thrown at them, the Kongs will reach the platform where Krow awaited them. The pahntom vulture will once again send a barrage of ghostly Mini-Neckies at the Kongs, but this time the speed and number of Mini-Neckies increases. The Kongs must once again jump on the living Mini-Necky to make a barrel appear which they can throw at Krow.

After being hit by this barrel Krow will once again fly upwards and the Kongs must follow; and after dodging numerous eggs, they reach the top of this exceedingly tall crow's nest. Here, Krow sends another barrage of ghosts after the Kongs, who defeat the living Mini-Necky and throw the resulting barrel at the ghostly vultuire, defeating Krow once and for all.

In Donkey Kong Land 2, Krow inexplicably appeared as the living boss of Gangplank Galleon, and also reprises his role as Kreepy Krow of Gloomy Gulch. Whether this is the same Krow as the one in Donkey Kong Country 2 or is simply another Krow is unknown.

Krow has beady black eyes and the tip of his beak is red. Like most pirates, Krow has a black tricorn hat with a skull on it. He also has a brown belt with a gold buckle around his body. History[edit]

Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest[edit]

In Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest, Krow is the first boss, and he is fought at Krow's Nest at the end of Gangplank Galleon. Krow attacks by picking up a large egg from his nest and throwing it at Diddy Kong and Dixie Kong. Later on, Krow's other tactic is ramming his head into his nest, causing a few eggs to fall out and for one to land on the ground. Krow can take damage from the Kongs using an egg that he threw against him. After four hits, Krow is defeated. Krow is later revealed to have died, when his ghostly form, Kreepy Krow, is fought as the boss of Gloomy Gulch. In the ending's Cast of Characters, Krow is classified under the Barnacled Bosses category with the other bosses. In the Game Boy Advance version, Krow's death is revealed prematurely, as his spirit can be seen leaving him and flying away.

Donkey Kong Land 2[edit]
