In ''Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest'', King Zing first appears near the end of [[Rambi Rumble (Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest)|Rambi Rumble]], where he begins to chase Rambi. Unlike regular yellow [[Zinger]]s, Rambi can neither jump on nor attack King Zing, and must simply run away from him (Fittingly, the theme that plays during the chase is titled "Run, Rambi! Run!"). The chase ends when King Zing slams into a wall just before the [[End of Level Target]].


To score a hit on King Zing, Squawks had to hit his stinger with his coconuts. After a coconut hits him, he will start to flash yellow and red before returning to normal; resuming his normal patrol around the level but a little faster. If Squawks hits him again, he will turn red and start chasing Squawks while shooting out stingers in all directions three times before returning to normal.  
King Zing is fought in [[King Zing Sting (Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest)|King Zing Sting]] at the end of [[Krazy Kremland]]. Fighting King Zing requires the [[Kong]]s to first enter a [[Animal Barrel|Squawks Barrel]] to transform into [[Squawks the Parrot|Squawks]], making King Zing the first boss in the [[Donkey Kong Country (series)|''Donkey Kong Country'' series]] to be fought against solely as an [[Animal Friend]]. King Zing moves around the arena in a set pattern. King Zing can be attacked from having one of Squawks's [[egg]] projectiles hit his red-flashing stinger. When hit by an egg, he flashes red for a few seconds, indicating temporary invincibility, before returning to normal. King Zing moves increasingly faster each time he is hit. When hit again, King Zing turns red and follows Squawks around, shooting out three separate sets of stingers in all directions, before returning to his normal state and route. After six hits, King Zing becomes a regular red Zinger, and summons four yellow Zingers to guard and surround him. Following this, King Zing moves after Squawks for the remainder of the battle. Defeating every Zinger surrounding King Zing causes him turn yellow, leaving him open to attack. After taking three hits as a regular Zinger, King Zing is defeated.

King Zing will then start chasing Squawks again. Squawks had to kill all four of the yellow Zingers before he can hit King Zing again. If he isn't quick enough at killing all of them, the yellow Zingers will then regenerate. Once they are all killed, then King Zing himself will become a yellow Zinger and it will take 3 more times hits to finally defeat him.

In the [[Game Boy Advance]] remake of [[Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest]], King Zing is hardly changed. The only difference is that he gives up his own speed for the pace of his stingers moving in all directions.

Interestingly enough, [[Rambi the Rhinoceros|Rambi]] encountered King Zing in the level [[Rambi Rumble]] (just before the actual boss battle).  King Zing was immune to Rambi's attacks, which forced him to get through a swarm of Zingers to reach the goal.

King Zing is a large Zinger who is the fourth boss of Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest and the third boss of Donkey Kong Land 2.

In Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest, King Zing first appears near the end of Rambi Rumble, where he begins to chase Rambi. Unlike regular yellow Zingers, Rambi can neither jump on nor attack King Zing, and must simply run away from him (Fittingly, the theme that plays during the chase is titled "Run, Rambi! Run!"). The chase ends when King Zing slams into a wall just before the End of Level Target.

King Zing is fought in King Zing Sting at the end of Krazy Kremland. Fighting King Zing requires the Kongs to first enter a Squawks Barrel to transform into Squawks, making King Zing the first boss in the Donkey Kong Country series to be fought against solely as an Animal Friend. King Zing moves around the arena in a set pattern. King Zing can be attacked from having one of Squawks's egg projectiles hit his red-flashing stinger.
