Template:Level Tropical Tightropes is the twenty-fifth level in the classic Game Boy and Game Boy Color game, Donkey Kong Land III. It is also the first stage of the Tin Can Valley.

In this jungle level, the Kongs will find a new obstacle, moving tightropes. All throughout the level, they will have to slide around on these moving ropes, jumping over many, many Buzzes, found all over the stage. Though the heroes will be bouncing tightrope to tightrope for most of the level, they will find their way on solid ground a few times. There, they will meet a few other enemies besides the dangerous wasp-like Buzzes. Of these enemies are Sneeks, Re-Koils, Krimps, Bristles, and Bazukas. Because of its many moving tightropes, this level is very similar to Konveyor Rope Klash.

Level Layout

At the beginning of the level, the heroes will have to head down a long path, defeating a few enemies, such as Sneeks. Upon entering a nearby barrel, the group will be shot over a large abyss and land on the other end of it, where they will have to avoid some more enemies to find another barrel. Going into this barrel, they will be shot onto a moving tightrope. It will pull them towards some Buzzes, so the heroes will need to jump over each foe and hop carefully to the separate tightropes. After grabbing the letter O, the Kongs will need to enter another barrel and be shot into the Star Barrel on flat land.

About halfway through the level, the monkeys will have to trudge through the jungle and cross a small gap to find another barrel. It will shoot them to two parallel tightropes. The group should hop back and fourth to each rope to dodge a few Buzzes, then hop to the next tightrope connected to another tree. Following a small banana, they will have to plummet back to the ground and travel east. After avoiding some enemies, including a Bazuka, the apes will notice another barrel. Hopping into it, they will be blasted to more parallel ropes. Continually jumping back and fourth to each tightrope, they will, again, have to dodge several Buzzes. At the end of the final tightrope of the area, the Kongs will find the letter N. From there, they should fall off of the rope and head down the path. Nearby, they will see a barrel. It will shoot them onto yet another set of parallel tightropes. Jumping back and fourth between the rope, as before, they will need to watch out for Buzzes. At the end of these tightropes, they will have to jump into another barrel and find the flagpole. If they touch it, they will be lead to the next level.

Secrets

Bonus Levels

  • Just after the letter K, Dixie Kong should use her ponytail to flutter over the nearest abyss. In the center of the wide pit, she will find a Bonus Barrel. Twirling into it, she will be lead to the first Bonus Level with Kiddy Kong. There, the monkeys will have to climb along a few tightropes, collecting stars and avoiding Buzzes. Once all the stars are obtained, a Bonus Coin will appear at hte end of the area.
  • At the end of the level, the Kongs should jump over the flagpole to find a trail of three bananas leading into an abyss. They will have to follow the trail to land in some hidden barrels. The barrels will blast them to another area, where the group will meet a Bazuka. Watching out for the enemy, they should jump into the Bonus Barrel found on the right side of the area. They will then be taken to a Bonus Level, where they will have to jump platform to platform, dodging several Buzzes. At the end of the stage, they will find the level's final Bonus Coin.

DK Coin

  • At the beginning of the level, the Kongs will find a barrel sitting right in front of them. They should pick it up and carry it backwards to find a Koin. This foe will have the DK Coin, and the monkeys will need to beat him to claim that coin. Though his shield can protect him from most attacks, the heroes will be able to throw the barrel over him and let it bounce off of the edge of the screen. The barrel will bounce back and hit the Koin as he watches the Kongs, defeating him and giving the group the DK Coin.
