"Here's a tip from by days as a beloved hero. Try rolling off a ledge, and jumping in mid-air. That'll get your blood movin'!"
-Cranky Kong, Donkey Kong Country Returns Instruction Manual.
The Kong Roll is a ability usable by Kiddy Kong and Dixie Kong together in Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble! and by Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong together in Donkey Kong Country Returns and Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, (though Dixie and Cranky can be used for it in the latter game).
Donkey Kong Country 3
If Dixie throws Kiddy against a wall then jumps on him while he is rolling, she can ride him just like a Steel Barrel.
Donkey Kong Country Returns and Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze
The ability requires both Donkey and Diddy Kong to be available, and Diddy (or Dixie or Cranky if playing the latter game) needs to be on DK's back. Once Diddy is on Donkey Kong's back, Donkey Kong must do a regular barrel roll by going forward and shaking the remote, but instead of just doing that, the controller must be shaken continuously. This will make Diddy Kong will run on top of Donkey Kong as he rolls, increasing speed and allowing even faster plowing through enemies. This move goes for as long as the player can shake the remote. The player can jump in the middle of the move, which gains a lot of horizontal distance, useful for gaining access to faraway secret areas (usually for a Puzzle Piece). Additionally, like the Barrel Roll, the player can use this move to roll off of a ledge, before jumping in mid-air and allowing for even farther travel.
