Melon Crates are large wooden crates with a melon slice painted on them. They only appear in Donkey Kong 64, and a few appear in every level except for Hideout Helm.

The active Kong can attack a Melon Crate to break it open. This causes them to release up to four melon slices, which restore missing segments of the Kongs' health. In later levels, the Melon Crates usually release four melon slices. Melon Crates usually appear around the start of a level.
