A Blueprint is an item in Donkey Kong 64. They are blueprints for King K. Rool's Blast-o-Matic machine. Also, every time one is collected, more time is added on to the timer in the last level, Hideout Helm, for a total of 50 minutes. Once the Kongs collect all the blueprints, Snide will show them a secret batch of minigames. However, getting all the blueprints is not necessary to beat the game. All of them are required, however, if the player wants to see the secret ending after defeating King K. Rool.

Snide, Donkey Kong 64

Blueprints are the design plans for the Blast-o-Matic from Donkey Kong 64. They are collectible items that the Kongs must return to Snide, who rewards them with a Golden Banana for every Blueprint returned to him. There are forty Blueprints in total.

Aside from Hideout Helm, every world and DK Isles have five Blueprints, one for each Kong to collect. Every blueprint is guarded by a Kasplat, whose hair color and Blueprint color corresponds to a specific Kong. Every blueprint can only be collected by a specific Kong, based on their color (yellow for Donkey Kong, red for Diddy Kong, purple for Tiny Kong, blue for Lanky Kong, green for Chunky Kong). If an incorrect Kong is active, the Blueprint appears in the form of a hologram, and the Kong cannot collect it.

Blueprints play a somewhat critical role in the final level, Hideout Helm, because Snide uses them to delay the Blast-o-Matic's countdown timer by a minute per blueprint. By default, the timer starts at ten minutes and can reach up to 50 minutes, if all 40 blueprints are collected.

Blueprints are required for a 101% completion. Additionally, by recovering every blueprint, Snide allows the Kongs to replay most of the Bonus Stages from a sub-menu at his headquarters.
