Skellirexes mostly move around from left to right, usually posing a minimal threat to [[Donkey Kong]] and [[Diddy Kong]]. When attacked using any kind of attack method, they will lose their bodies and detach their heads, which become a slightly larger version of [[Skullyrex]]es. These begin creeping on the ground aimlessly, rapidly chomping air. Attacking the lone Skellirex head will destroy it.

There are also some Skellirexes that ride on [[Mine Cart|mine carts]], which are found at [[Prehistoric Path]]. These Skellirexes can be taken out simply by jumping on them.

The [[Kong]]s can safely attack Skellirexes with any attack. By doing so, the Skellirex loses its body, and its head detaches and forms into a [[Skullyrex]]. The Kongs can instantly defeat a Skellirex by directly attacking its head, and they can also instantly defeat the Mine Cart-riding Skellirexes by jumping on them.

They have a small body and a large head. They first appear in the level Tumblin' Temple, but they mostly appear in the Cliff world. In Prehistoric Path, there are Skellirexes riding in Mine Carts.
