Template:Species-infobox The Skellyrex is an undead dinosaur-like enemy that first appeared in Donkey Kong Country Returns. These enemies are mostly found at the Cliff area of Donkey Kong Island, but they also appear in the level, Tumblin' Temple. Skellyrexes mostly move around from left to right, usually posing a minimal threat to Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong. They can be attacked with any kind of attack method, but when attacked directly, they'll lose their bodies. The Kongs need to be careful not to collide with the Skellyrex head when it detaches from its body. Attacking the Skellyrex head again will defeat it for good.
Skellyrexes also have a relative, known as the Skullyrexes.
There are also some Skellyrexes that ride on mine carts, which are found at Prehistoric Path. These Skellyrexes can be taken out simply by jumping on them.
