Hot Rocket
Template:Level Hot Rocket is the fifty-seventh level in the Nintendo Wii game, Donkey Kong Country Returns. It is also the second level in the Volcano world.
This level features the Rocket Barrel, which is throughout most of the level. On the barrel, the Kongs must constantly dodge the obstacles before them. Much of it is movable rock plates that either break apart or rise with the lava. Another are fiery snake-like creatures that fly around in circle-like paths. Near the end is a massive wave of lava that chases Donkey and Diddy Kong. They must avoid all of these obstacles and make it to the end without hitting anything.
Overview
The level stars off with the Donkey Kong on the ground. There is then a platform with lava in the middle and enemies acting like Podoboos. There is also a barrel that takes Donkey Kong to a bonus level above the lava between the platforms and the ground. After finishing the Bonus Level, Donkey Kong then gets shot out to the ground. There is then more platforms and next to him, and next to that, there is a barrel that allow the Donkey Kong to fly. After getting in the barrel, there is a grid of bananas floating. After that, he starts going to where giant steel rocks are moving up and lava shooting up. Shortly after that, giant steel rocks are moving down, and more lava is shooting up. Then, smaller rocks then actually fall down into the lava. Fireballs than start moving, and five bananas are located there. After he goes through that, giant steel rocks then start to fall down completely into lava. Donkey Kong then passes all of that and what seems like fire snakes moving in a circular direction. If Donkey Kong is touched by one, he will lose a heart. Donkey Kong then flies with more steel rocks, and a couple of bananas. There is more "fire snakes" moving in a circular direction. After that, lava then starts shooting up like crazy, and a wave of lava is following him. After escaping, Donkey Kong is at the end of the level.
Secrets
K-O-N-G Letters
- K: After the primates come out of the Bonus Level barrel, they go on some platforms, then need to go in a barrel that flies. Steel giant rocks come down, and the K is located under one of them.
- O: More steel rocks come down, and after the fourth one comes down, at the top there is the O.
- N: Shortly after that, the N is above some more steel rocks.
- G: After getting the fourth Puzzle Piece, there are what seems like fire snakes moving in a circular direction. In the second cirle is the G.
Puzzle Pieces
- At the beginning of the level where a barrel is pouring out lava and it's done, the Kongs need to go into the barrel. It will take them to a Bonus Level where if all the bananas are collected, a Puzzle Piece appears.
- When they keep riding in the barrel and the stell rocks come down, a smaller once falls down and a fireball hits it. Then. a Puzzle Piece comes out and falls slowly.
- Shortly after getting the second Puzzle Piece, fireballs come, and a Puzzle Piece is located at the bottom.
- Shortly after getting the N letter when the Kongs are still flying in the barrel, fireballs come some more, and a Puzzle Piece appears.
- After getting the G letter, a big sweep of lava is coming towards the primates, and just like the fourth Puzzle Piece, one appears.
