Some green Chomps

Green Chomps[1] are a green variant of Chomp that appear in Donkey Kong Country Returns and Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D. Green Chomps first appear in the level Longshot Launch, along with the other Chomps.

Green Chomps constantly open and close their mouths. By opening their mouth, this reveals their tongue which is shaped like a mushroom. The Kongs can safely jump on their tongue, although green Chomps immediately close their mouth if they do so. The Kongs take damage if they hit a green Chomp while its mouth is closed.

If the Kongs jump on it but land on the inside of its mouth instead of the tongue, they will be eaten by it and have to shake the controller (press X Button or Y Button repeatedly in the 3DS version) to force it to spit them out. If the Kongs fail to do so fast enough or in a certain amount of time, the green Chomp will forcefully launch them into the air and the Kongs will lose a heart.
