This slowly takes away at Davy Bones's health, so Donkey Kong must hit Davy Bones into the spikes numerous times before Davy Bones is defeated.

After a while, Davy Bones escapes from Donkey Kong's grasp, and his peg also turns dark gray as he retreats into a gap. Dave Bones returns to normal after lunging back out. After being hit enough times, Davy Bones is defeated, as his body segments break apart and slowly fall out of the level. The [[Medal (DK: King of Swing)|gold medal]] appears at the bottom-right for Donkey Kong to collect.

The battle starts with Davy Bones emerging from the middle gap on the left side. It moves between a few more gaps, then its Health Meter is shown. During the battle, Donkey Kong (or Diddy Kong in Diddy Mode) must climb around on the Peg Boards. If the Kongs hit Davy Bones or the spikes on the walls, they lose a heart of their health. For its main attack, Davy Bones peeks out a gap, biting as it lunges at Donkey Kong. Davy Bones then circles around the Peg Boards, and Donkey Kong must perform a charge attack to stun Davy Bones. While Davy Bones is stunned, Donkey Kong must grab the orange peg at the tip of Davy Bones' tail, grab on a peg, and swing it into the spikes, slowly taking away at Davy Bones' health. After a while, Davy Bones escapes from Donkey Kong's grasp, and its peg also turns dark gray as it retreats into a gap. Dave Bones returns to normal after lunging back out. After enough hits, Davy Bones is defeated, and a gold medal appears.
