Buckies can normally be defeated in any way, including a stomp or a [[Roll Attack|roll attack]] on their front side. Those that hang from ceilings can only be knocked out with a [[barrel]]. If the player ground pounds next to a Bucky, the enemy lays down and gets dizzy momentarily, becoming harmless. Shooting one with a [[popgun]] likewise stuns it for a brief moment.
As they walk, Buckies release trails of toxic fumes which disappear after a set amount of time, but which are dangerous for the [[Kong]]s.

Buckies are not difficult to defeat: a single stomp can down them. A [[Barrel Roll (move)|roll]] attack on their front side is also effective against these creatures, but it is not recommended, since the player can get into their poisonous trails and get damaged. Nevertheless, Buckies that hang on ceilings cannot be defeated by these methods, and it is useful to throw a [[barrel]] at them so they perish. Sometimes, the player can encounter strings of ceiling-dwelling Buckies that constantly emerge from holes and end up in another one, further away. Their main "target" is, perhaps, hindering the Kongs with their descending large bubbles.

Buckies[1] are caterpillar enemies in Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze and its Nintendo Switch port found in the level Harvest Hazards. They walk around a platform, releasing trails of toxic fumes that dissolve after a few moments. Their concept artwork depicts a Bucky leaving trails of a light-blue substance, which never happens in-game.
