Steerable Barrels[1] (also referred to as Steer Barrels in an issue of Nintendo Power[2]) are a type of Barrel appearing in Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest. They have a picture of the control pad on them.

Once jumped into, the Steerable Barrel can be moved in any direction. However, there is a limit to how long the Kongs can stay in the Steerable Barrel. When the time limit is up, the Barrel will launch the Kongs and then disappear. This kind of Barrel is only found in the level Fiery Furnace.
