A Krockhead Barrel,[1] also formatted as Krockhead barrel,[2] is a type of barrel in Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest and Donkey Kong Land 2. These barrels depict a Krockhead, specifically of the green type in the former game. In both games, Krockhead Barrels only appear in their respective iteration of the level Krockhead Klamber, usually hovering in midair. If Diddy or Dixie Kong touch a Krockhead Barrel, several Krockheads emerge from the swamp, and the Kongs can jump from them to travel across. However, there is only a limited opportunity to do so, as the Krockheads retreat back into the swamp water shortly afterward. While a Krockhead Barrel is active, the Krockhead icon depicted on it blinks repeatedly. If the Kongs touch a Krockhead Barrel again, the duration of its effect is reset.
