In the [[Game Boy Advance]] remake, the Bonus Bonanza retains its main concept, although most of the layout is different. The Bonus Bonanza takes place in two rooms. In the main room, Diddy and Dixie must choose a quiz by walking to its barrel and selecting it. Each barrel displays either 1–3 Banana Coins to visually represent the cost for participating. The Life Balloon reward corresponds to the platform color beneath each barrel (red, green, or blue). By selecting a quiz, Diddy and Dixie jump into the barrel and appear in the game show room.
 
Swanky asks a question on the display, and then the three options are displayed. Three red star-shaped buttons are on the floor, each displaying a letter (A, B, or C) to correspond to the letter choices. To highlight a choice, Diddy and Dixie must walk on a star and jump on it. [[Candy Kong]] is at the right of the game show room, and her only role is pointing to the choice currently highlighted by the Kongs. If Diddy and Dixie select a wrong answer, the star disappears, causing the Kongs fall down the floor and return to the main room. The area takes place inside of a studio. The logo BONUS appears in the background, and it is made up of flashing red, blue, and green dots. Two objects from ''[[Donkey Kong Country]]'' also appear in the background: a [[Giant Banana]] and a pair of the three types of [[Extra Life Balloon]]s of [[Donkey Kong]]'s head (red, green, and blue). The floor is glossy and reflective, and a horizontal line of stars is at the bottom. There are three barrels numbered 1–3 on individual platforms, and they each correspond to a quiz (or "game", as stated by the purple banners beneath each barrel). The barrel's number is the same as the cost in Banana Coins and the number of [[Extra Life Balloon|extra lives]] rewarded by Swanky.

Set in a TV studio, Swanky will let [[Diddy Kong|Diddy]] or [[Dixie Kong]] partake in one of three quiz challenges in exchange for [[Banana Coin]]s. The three quizzes cost either one, two or three coins to play, with the price indicating their difficulty level. For each quiz, Swanky will ask three multiple choice questions about the game. If the [[Kong]]s answer any questions incorrect, the quiz will end, and they will lose, although they can retry the challenge if they are willing to pay for another go.

In the [[Game Boy Advance]] [[remake]] of the game, Swanky's Bonus Bonanza has undergone some changes. It is now simply known as '''Bonus Bonanza'''. When a quiz is chosen, the Kong playing will enter a barrel that will transport them to a stage, where Swanky Kong will ask his questions from atop a podium. [[Candy Kong]] is also Swanky's assistant, although she does not contribute anything to the game. The BONUS logo is smaller and made up of small, glittery stars. A yellow-orange star appears on each side of the BONUS logo, and a larger one is centered on the floor. The barrels representing the quizzes are average size, each appearing on a red, a green, and a blue stand.

In the Game Boy Advance version, most of the quiz room is empty except for a large display. It is surrounded by a border of red, green, and blue dots. Swanky and Candy stand next to the display, on the left and right sides respectively. The three red star panels are in the center, in front of the large display.
