Template:DKClevelbox Forest Frenzy is the thirteenth level of the classic Super Nintendo game, Donkey Kong Country. It is also the third level of the Vine Valley area on Donkey Kong Island.

This level takes place in a forest around Tree Top Town and Vine Valley. The area is filled with numerous abysses and enemies, and the only way to get away from them is with the use of many mobile ropes, which move from left to right when grabbed. As the ropes carry the Kongs over the abysses, they will have to watch out for these numerous enemies by sliding around the twines. These enemies include Neckies and Zingers, who will try to knock the monkeys off of the ropes and down through the trees. Some Kritters also appear here to attack the Kongs as they walk along the ground areas.

Level Layout

From the start of the level, the Kongs must head east and swing along a rope to cross a wide abyss. When they get off the rope, they must beat a few Kritters and then grab onto another rope. It will swing to them to small platform where another rope is located. When they cling onto this, it will take them to the next rope. This rope will lead the heroes back to land, where they will find another rope. It will take them over a large pit and then to a platform. Another rope waits nearby. When the monkeys grab onto it, the rope will guide them over the trees. As it takes them, however, they will have to watch out for many dangerous Zingers scattered all around the area. Once the rope stops, the monkeys can jump off and hit the Star Barrel.

Halfway through the level, the group must grab onto another rope. The rope will glide them to a small platform where the next rope waits. When they get on this rope, they will be taken to an area with several Zingers. The monkeys will have to avoid them all and then reach two platforms with Kritters on them. These foes should be defeated, as well as the Necky between the platforms. Once this is done, the heroes must grab onto a rope and be lead to yet another rope. This rope will guide them across an area filled with numerous Zingers, swarming all over the place. When the Kongs near the end of the area, they will encounter a group of vicious Neckies. These foes must be dodged just like the Zingers. After Donkey and Diddy get off of this rope, they will be on land around several Kritters, all perched on small ledges. They must all be defeated as the Kongs come by. Once they drop down the final ledge, the heroes will see the exit sign, as well as the way out of the level.

Bonus Level(s)

  • When the heroes are riding on the last rope in the level, they will encounter many Neckies flying at them. At this time, they should look down and try to spot a barrel that will lead to the Bonus Level. They will see this barrel near the end of the area. Once it is spotted, they must climb down the rope and get in, entering the Bonus Level. There, they monkeys must watch an Animal Token as it moves around four barrels at a fast stopped. When it stops, they should choose the barrel they think its in. If they chose correctly, the Kongs will be awarded with the token. Once they are done with this bonus, they will be back in the main level.
  • After the Kongs jump off the last rope, they must glide over a Kritter and hit into an area of the ground. A barrel will pop out. This barrel should be carried up the several ledges through the rest of the level. As they monkeys take it around the area, they must try to keep the barrel away from enemies so they don't break it. Once they see the exit sign, still with the barrel, they must blast open the wall to the left. An entryway will be revealed, and they should walk in it. They will end up in a Bonus Level, where the heroes will need to grab onto a rope and grab many, many bananas, all scattered throughout the area. Once all the bananas are collected, they can grab an Animal Token and then head out.
