Clambos are clams that appear as underwater foes in Donkey Kong Country and Donkey Kong Land. They have a shell with two eyes and a tongue inside.

Game appearances[edit]

Donkey Kong Country[edit]

Clambos first appear in Donkey Kong Country. In the game, they repeatedly open and close their shells. When they open it, they spit out pearls, either ranging from one to five pearls. Clambos are invicible, even to Enguarde's bill. Clambos are uncommon in Coral Capers, but play a main role in Clam City.

In the Game Boy Advance re-release, there is a photograph of Clambo. It is found in Clam City after the letter "O", in a secret cavern behind a Clambo.

Donkey Kong Land[edit]

Clambo reprises in Donkey Kong Land; it no longer fires pearls after opening its shell. A larger Clambo called Colossal Clambo appears as the second boss in the game. Clambos only appear in the level "Nautilus Chase".

Donkey Kong Country comic[edit]

Clambo in the Donkey Kong Country comic.

Clambo briefly appears in the Donkey Kong Country comic, annoyed that the "Chomp police" come in to try and defeat Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong. A Clambo bites one of the Chomps, and then argues with the other underwater enemies over who should handle the Kongs. However, DK throws a TNT Barrel at all of the foes, presumably defeating them.
