Taking place, as its name suggests, in a misty mine, this level is littered with many Oil Drums. These Oil Drums, however, are not like other Oil Drums, as they spit out enemies instead of flames. These enemies include Slippas at the beginning of the level, then, Gnawties, Klaptraps, and Armies. The level's mist effect also makes the area a little less clear and harder for the Kongs to see. One of this level's most unique features is the placement of its K-O-N-G Letters. Each letter is hidden near the other, all put into the first Bonus Level of Misty Mine. If the monkeys are able to find this Bonus Level, they will also meet Expresso the Ostrich, who will help them progress through the level.

At the beginning of the level, the Kongs will find a TNT Barrel right in front of htem. They should pick it up and use it to blow away an Oil Drum. After that, they will have to travel onwards and move over a Slippa-spitting Oil Drum. From there, they will need to grab onto a rope and swing up to a high ledge. There, they will have to walk a long distance, simply jumping over small Oil Drums and avoiding many Slippas. Eventually, they will find a rope. It will lead them over a small abyss once grabbed and to another area, where they will find some more Oil Drums. These Oil Drums, as before, will contain Slippas. Soon, the group will come up to another rope. It will guide them over part of an abyss and to another rope. This rope will lead the monkeys over the rest of the pit. On the other end of this pit, the monkeys will find the level's Star Barrel.

Now halfway through the level, the Kongs will need to dodge some more Slippas and grab onto a long rope. It will take them fully over a large gap, and to an Oil Drum. The group should easily pass up the drum and head along the area to find some more Oil Drums, shooting out Klaptraps, Gnawties, and some Slippas. Eventually, the monkeys will have to bounce on a tire to reach a high ledge, though after that, they will find more Oil Drums to pass. After they both use an Oil Drum to give them a life over a small pit, they will have to defeat more Armies and Klaptraps from nearby Oil Drums. Soon, they will come up to a small gap. The apes will be able to simply jump over them and continue through the level, coming up to an area filled with four consecutive Oil Drums, all side by side. The group should dodge each of the Slippas shooting out of them and finally see an exit sign. Farther on, they will find themselves in the next level.
