Template:DKClevelbox Mine Cart Madness is the twenty-seventh level of the popular Donkey Kong game, Donkey Kong Country. It is also the fifth level of the Kremkroc Industries, Inc. area. In the Game Boy Advance remake to the game, this level is instead the twenty-eighth level, along with the sixth area in Kremkroc Industries Inc.

This boardwalk level is very similar to Mine Cart Carnage, as it features the rarely found vehicles, Mine Carts. This time, the Kongs will have to ride their carts in the same manner as before. However, when they jump, they will both exit the cart and be sent into mid-air, unlike in Mine Cart Carnage, where the monkeys will jump along with the cart. The heroes must get used to jumping out of their cart independently as they get over many Zingers and Neckies on the track. Sometimes, they will even have to leave their cart for good and land in a different mine cart, or even hijack a Krash's cart.

At the beginning of the level, the Kongs will have to walk down a short path of scaffolds and jump off of the right end of the last one to land in a mine cart. The cart will pull the Kongs across the twisty, dark track. As they go, the Kongs will need to jump over three separate Neckies. Upon meeting the last one, the group should jump out of their mine cart and land in another, riding along a new track. This track will take them through a steep drop. At the end of it, they will begin to float in mid-air. At that time, they will have to jump out and land in another cart. This time, they will be led to a Zinger. They should quickly hop over it and land in another mine cart. On this vehicle, they will run into a small group a Neckies. Two of them can be bounced off to reach the letter O. After that, the heroes will need to jump into another cart and leap over a Zinger. They will then be led to a set of broken tracks. They will have to jump into one mine cart at a time on each small track. Once back the big track, they will run into the Star Barrel.

Halfway through the level, Donkey and Diddy will have to hop over a few more Neckies to reach another set of broken, small tracks. They should use other mine carts to get over these curvy tracks, and then make it back to the larger potion of the main track. There, they will ride up and down the twisted path and be led towards a group of two Zingers. They should carefully jump in between them and hop out of their mine cart to land on a stationary tire. Bouncing off of it, the monkeys will get in another mine cart. They will have to ride it between two more Zingers, and then onto another tire. When they get off this tire, they will land in the next mine cart, occupied by a Krash. They should defeat the enemy and get in it. It will take them along another short path to a small platform. They will need to jump off this area to get in another Krash-filled cart. This cart will go a very short distance, and within a second, the animals will have to jump to another tire-covered platform. Again, defeating a Krash, the monkeys must get in another mine cart and ride to another stationary tire on a platform. Leaping off it, they will land in the next Krash-occupied cart. This cart will guide them into three Zingers. To foes must be jumped over to take the heroes to another mine cart. Defeating the Krash inside it, they should ride to another tire. They will have to drop down from this area and follow a trail of bananas to the last mine cart. It will take them up a long slope, and then gain speed as it drops down through the track. The Kongs should quickly jump off at the right time to land on a scaffold. From there, they should beat a lone Gnawty and head for the nearby exit.

Bonus Level(s)

  • At the beginning of the level, the monkeys will have to grab the letter K and dodge two Neckies. Right after that, they will begin to ride downwards. There, they should jump up and grab onto a lone rope. Jumping off of it to the right will take them to another mine cart. It will take them over a path with some bananas. In the center of this track, the monkeys should jump up and land in a hidden barrel. It will take them to a Bonus Level, where they will have to blast through several barrels to grab a few special items, including an Animal Token. They can exit the area through the opening at the end of the stage.

  • Shortly after the letter N, the heroes will notice a tire floating in the air. They should jump to it when they come by and bounce into the barrel to the right. It will shoot them to another Bonus Level, where they will need to hit three barrels so the images on them all match. Once this is done, they will be awarded with Animal Token and be taken back to the main level.
  • Upon exiting the final mine cart, the heroes should turn around and jump past the track. They will land on a floating tire. They will need to use it to bounce to the next tire, the one after it, and then into a barrel. It will blast them into a Bonus Level. There, the group will have to bounce on another tire on a moving platform to grab many bananas over a wide abyss. The bonus's exit is to their right.
