Kludge is a large, blue, and muscular Kremling and one of the racers from Donkey Kong Barrel Blast. He is an unlockable character and the rival of Funky Kong. The player can unlock him by clearing the Diamond Cup as a Kremling.

Kludge has an "X" across his stomach, three white stripes on both arms, chains around his wrists, red eyes, and yellow shorts with a skull belt. His bongos are chained, are spiked on the top and bottom, and have a blue "X" on the sides.

In the Cranky's Flight School cutscene, he is seen training along Diddy Kong, Tiny Kong, and Kip. In the Records cutscene, he is seen with Tiny Kong, Funky Kong, Dixie Kong, and Kip looking at a scoreboard.

Kludge has a trophy in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. In European versions of the game, Kludge's trophy reveals some of his characteristics. When Kludge is angry, he is rumored to cause trouble even for King K. Rool. He is described as simpleminded and has a hobby for eating. Due to his childlike manner, Kludge has become friends with Kip and Kass.

Profiles and statistics

Donkey Kong Barrel Blast

Super Smash Bros. Brawl trophy

The trophy for Kludge was completely rewritten for the NTSC release of Super Smash Bros. Brawl, focusing on the character's performance in Donkey Kong: Barrel Blast rather than details about the character himself. The PAL release of the game retains the information from the Japanese version.

A member of the Kremling Krew making his first appearance in Donkey Kong: Barrel Blast. His less-than-average acceleration and weak cornering are offset by an impressive top speed. Kludge's relation to the physically fit blue Krunchas and Krumples of the Kremling forces is still unknown. A massive, monstrous Kremling who, once riled up, is rumored to even give King K. Rool trouble. His child-like manner has made him firm friends with Kip and Kass. Unfortunately, Kludge is pretty simpleminded--thinking about too much at once tends to overheat his brain. His hobby is devouring anything and everything at the dinner table.
