Klobber
Klobbers are green colored members of the Kremling Krew that wear barrels.
Klobbers first appear in Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest as common enemies. Klobbers will hide in their barrels and wait for Diddy or Dixie, when they do Klobbers will attempt to charge into the kongs with intent of shoving them into other enemies, into an abyss or something equally as bad. The Kongs can knock a Klobber unconscious by bonking it on the head (either by jumpling on it or throwing something at it). After a Klobber is knocked out the kongs can use it's barrel as a weapon. Sometimes Klobbers will run off the edge of an abyss, killing themselves.
A yellow version of Klobbers exist, these yellow Klobbers use the same strategy as the green variety (hiding in a barrel and charging recklessly when the Kongs approach). The major difference between the green and yellow Klobbers is that the yellow variety along with shoving the Kongs they can make them drop their collected Banana Bunchs. The majority of yellow Klobbers are found in the Lost World.
There also exists grey Klobbers with red eyes. These Klobbers are the most dangerous as whenever they hit a Kong they cause them to drop a Balloon.
All the Klobber varietys appear in Donkey Kong Country 2's psuedo-sequel Donkey Kong Land 2.
Enemies similar to Klobbers, called Knockas appear in Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble and Donkey Kong Land 3.
Green Klobbers and Kabooms also appear in Donkey Kong 64. Here they are actually quite rare, found only in Angry Aztec and Gloomy Galleon. This time Klobbers actually do hurt the Kongs when they run into them. The Klobbers (and Kabooms) of this game can be defeated by simply throwing an Orange Grenade at them while they are in their barrel.
Klobbers also appear in Donkey Konga 2.
Trivia
- Whenever a Klobber runs it makes a sound similar to tires screeching. In Donkey Kong 64 a Klobber, when chasing a Kong will sometimes "C'mon!" in a very Daffy Duck-esque voice.
- Red Klobbers (which wear TNT Barrels) are known as Kabooms.
