In Donkey Kong 64, Flipflaps are encountered in Fungi Forest and Creepy Castle. Unlike Zingers who replace Flipflaps in daylight in Fungi Forest, they lack the ability to drop Oranges. Despite this, they are still dangerous as they can quickly dive downward and attack a Kong. Flipflaps can be defeated by blasting them with a Kong's weapon.
In DK: King of Swing, Flipflaps return as enemies, commonly encountered in places such as caves. They appeared in the Mt. Dynamite race track in Donkey Kong Barrel Blast as obstacles. They recently appeared in DK: Jungle Climber, where they can be mostly found in eerie forests.
