Donkey Kong is a Game Boy game released in 1994 that was a remake for Donkey Kong. It is also available on the Nintendo 3DS's eShop.

[edit] Storyline

In this game, Donkey Kong kidnaps Pauline and Mario must save her by advancing throughout entire levels. After Mario defeats Donkey Kong in each world, Donkey Kong will get up again and run off with Pauline (except for the final world, in which Mario ends up capturing Donkey Kong, alluding to the events of Donkey Kong Jr.). The game resembles the original Donkey Kong in levels and characters.

[edit] Stages

Construction Site - Similiar to the original Donkey Kong game, Mario must go to the platform avoiding the enemies/objects Donkey Kong throws to Mario. At the final level, Mario has to pull the rivet to the construction to defeat Donkey Kong.

Big City - After defeating Donkey Kong, the game gets extended. Donkey Kong takes Pauline to the Big City. Mario must climb the buildings, use keys to unlock doors, avoid the enemies, and battle Donkey Kong. There are eight levels, two that are boss battles (don't use a key to complete the level).

Forest - Mario chases Donkey Kong across a bridge that connects the city to a forest. There are twelve levels, three that are boss battles.

Ship - Donkey Kong jumps onto a ship near the edge of the forest, and Mario follows by swinging on a tightrope. There are eight levels, with two boss fights.

Jungle - Donkey Kong jumps off the ship and into a jungle via large rocks sticking out of the water, with Mario clearing them via the triple jump. There are twelve levels, with three boss battles.

Desert - Mario chases Donkey Kong out of the jungle and into the desert. There are twelve levels, three of which are boss battles.

Airplane - Donkey Kong gets inside an airplane which has landed beside the pyramid he and Mario were in. This chapter has eight levels, with two boss battles.

Iceberg - The plane lands at sea near an iceberg, on which Mario chases Donkey Kong. A walking fire follows them, melting the path behind it. This world has twelve levels, with three boss fights.

Rocky Valley - Donkey Kong and Mario each ride a floating ice platform to the mainland. A tower is seen near this location's final battle. This world is the longest in the game as it has sixteen levels, four of which are boss battles.

Tower - Mario chases Donkey Kong inside a tower and up it. The two clash at the top of it and Donkey Kong falls off. However, he manages to eat a bunch of Super Mushrooms on the way down, increasing his size tremendously. The ape head at the top of the tower on the map screen is now shown as DK's head before the real final battle. This world has nine levels, all of which are boss fights (though the player still gets to save after the first four), and the last two are on the same space on the map screen.
